What I Don't Miss About KSL.com

As some know, I was banished from posting at KSL.com. I never received an explanation why, so the reasons are only speculative. Just to see what was going on in my old haunts, I visited the site today and read the comments to various stories on economic bad news. All I can say, is OMFNEG (Oh my fucking non-existent God!)

You would have thought that Democrats from the 1970's had more influence on the debacle in 2008 than did the the party in control for the last 7 years. And I also haven't seen the word "socialism" misused so many times by so many strident nincompoops (sorry for the name calling).

Obviously, I can't respond to these dufuses and set them straight, but I have to admit with alarm just how susceptible many Utahns seem to be to "right-wing talking points". Certainly, there are liberals who only get their words of wisdom for the day from Daily Kos or Salon, but wow, the stridency and the unbridled anger and fear I read in the words of the delusional masses at KSL, I can see why I got banned there. Thanks KSL. It was a bad fit anyway. I think I'll dwell here in the safe confines of the blogosphere and articulate my perspective as reasonably as I can. I want no part of the psycho-carnage of the regulars who comment at KSL.com.

I have been known to say that reading the KSL.com comments can cause brain damage.

It is truly alarming the implied intelligence level and ignorance of the commenters.

I haven't been banned, but I have banned myself. After posting a comment about a shooting, one commenter informed me he wouldn't waste a bullet, he could kill me with his bare hands.

I reported the guy to KSL and suggested he should be removed. That never happened, and I never received any response from KSL.
